Elephant feeding campJungle Retreat Masinagudi

More than a hundred years ago, elephants were used for timber extraction in these royal jungles. But tribal expertise with elephants predates this. When you come to the Elephant Camp at Theppakadu today, you can watch them being fed or grazing, with the mahout nearby. Did you know they are given Ragi too, in their grain rations? While this is a conservation centre open to the public in the evening, there is also the option of taking an elephant ride or watch them in puja mode.
